Using an algorithm of a player’s last 30 eligible match scores over the past 12 months, UTR calculates a weighted average of your match ratings and match weights in order to find your unique Universal Tennis Rating.

You can simply improve your UTR just by winning more games than expected. Regardless of whether you win or lose, just trying to win as many games as possible will help your rating. Competing is a must with UTR.
Play Often.
The more matches that you play, the faster your Universal Tennis Rating will reflect your current abilities. Try your best to play against opponents who are close to your current rating, whether they are just above or just below your current UTR.
Be Patient.
Your Universal Tennis Rating is a rolling weighted average. This means that new results may lag slightly within their system. Being patient is important as your UTR may take some time before it reflects a recent outcome.
