Staff Bio: Rick Boyce

Rick has spent a lifetime immersed in the game of tennis, from his first days playing at the YMCA in the McCall Field Complex to sharing his passion at Rally Point, where his favorite part is “playing and teaching good tennis with many good people.” He helped start the Lincoln High School tennis team with friends and a supportive coach/teacher, laying early groundwork for a life both on and off the court. Rick attended Bryant University, where he majored in Management Science and Computer Applications and competed on their tennis team for four years—climbing from the #6 singles spot to #1 by his final season. While at Bryant, he began teaching tennis part time to help pay for school, later transitioning to a full-time career in Information Technology that spanned three decades, while still coaching part time. Now enjoying a rewarding second career as a tennis instructor, Rick holds a USPTA certification and takes particular pride in teaching his most remarkable student—his father, George Boyce, who has been ranked #1 in New England in his age group for decades and is still playing strong at age 92.

About Rally Point

Rally Point Racquet Club opened its doors in 1972 with just three courts and no lounge area, founded by a group of friends who saw tennis gaining popularity across the U.S. and wanted to create a place where their community could come together to share in the love of the sport. Their vision quickly took hold, and after early success, the club expanded—adding three more courts and building the indoor space that continues to serve as the heart of the facility today. Over the past 50+ years, Rally Point has grown steadily by listening to and evolving with its most dedicated players and supporters.
